Dialaw Festival- Rhythms & Shapes of the World

Co-leadership:
Sayouba Sigué & Rachel Sigué-Chenet

DIALAW FESTIVAL - Rythmes et Formes du Monde is an annual multidisciplinary festival which takes place in April in the village of Toubab Dialaw in Senegal.
We invite national and international artists, from all continents, great artists of international renown alongside artists of local fame, and all disciplines of live performance are represented.

We want to make this festival a real moment of celebration and joy for the entire Toubab Dialaw area, where the local population meets over several days, united with festival-goers from elsewhere for an intercultural meeting. The anchoring of the festival in the territory is an important element for us, for this reason
that the local population is fully invested in its organization and in its realization and makes this event the festival of inhabitants
nts.

THE CONTEXT
The festival takes place throughout the village with a program both in the
different cultural places in the area as well as in the street and with locals in the very heart of the courses
family.
In this way, the festival highlights the particular places of our territory, creating
the enthusiasm around the populations. As a result, residents are investing in the festival project.
through active participation. They are fully involved in creating community momentum in
a singular and plural approach.
Through its eclectic programming, through its “outside the walls” offerings intended for all audiences and
by being completely free, the festival is committed to making culture accessible to as many people as possible.
The artistic proposal of quality and original. The festival intends to create a strong event and
clearly identified which targets an intergenerational audience. It attracts spectators from all walks of life.
By organizing the festival every year, we want to build public loyalty, but also
all of our long-term partners. The festival is a recurring event and
essential to the cultural life of Toubab Dialaw and Senegal.
We offer an alternative event like there are few in Senegal. We offer our
festival-goers a varied and careful artistic, cultural, intellectual and educational program.
The aspiration is to provoke curiosity and citizen encounters.
For 5 days and 4 nights, events follow one another in different emblematic places
chosen: from the theater of craze to the village square, from the sand school to Pintche (heart of
village), from the scene at the locals' house to the village beach....
Offering an exceptional platform for the diversity of the arts, harmoniously combining the
headliners and discoveries, combining new aesthetics and musical heritage, high standards
artistic and popular spirit, the Dialaw Festival RFM weaves a rich program throughout the week,
both festive and educational.

A friendly festival,
