Teguerer Company
“Let us applaud”, this is the literal meaning in Bambara, a language spoken in West Africa, of the word Teguerer.
TEGUERER initiated by Souleymane Porgo in 2001 nourished the ardent desire to create a company, a collective of creative artists bringing together dedicated and available dancers of his generation.
By choosing such a name linked to spectacle or the spectacular, Souleymane strongly believes that it is through the test of the stage that the artist develops, that he acquires his recognition, his place in society. Teguerer is the applause meter, it is the welcome, the invitation to occupy the stage, to continue to give pleasure, emotion.
Teguerer Danse emphasizes training, artistic versatility and curiosity. She freely invites herself to approach all disciplines of the performing arts, especially dance, theater and music.
Teguerer is made up of a handful of professional artists, creators of live performance, all committed to the promotion of artistic practices, culture and popular education. The Collective's mission is to develop and share a multidisciplinary, artistic and cultural space on both continents. The Collective is based in both LYON and OUAGADOUGOU.
The collective of Artists has been structured as a TEGUERER Law 1901 association since 2013.
She supports artists so that they bring art to life and awaken multiple territories. A collective to pool efforts and ideas.
This collective is based on the common desire to disseminate and produce artistic diversity, to create and support multidisciplinary shows, combining various artistic ramifications such as performing arts, visual arts, digital arts.
A structure that supports projects that only need a burst of creative energy to emerge and live.
Being together while respecting the specificity of each individual. And even more than respecting it, giving it value.
